Are final expense inbound calls worth it?

They can be, when the math works for your close rate and commission and you can answer during the hours you choose. Here is how to decide with your own numbers, and how to test without overspending.

What you are paying for.

A final expense inbound call is a phone call from someone who saw an ad about final expense coverage and chose to call. You are not dialing a list or chasing a form. The person on the line started the conversation.

That is why an inbound call costs more than an aged lead. An aged lead is a contact record you still have to reach. An inbound call is the conversation itself.

Check the math with your own numbers.

Two numbers decide whether calls pay off: what you earn on a typical policy, and how many billable calls you turn into policies.

The most you can afford per call is your earnings per policy multiplied by your close rate. If you earn $600 on a policy and close 1 in 10 billable calls, a call is worth $60 to you before your time and costs. These are example numbers, not results. Put in your own.

Earned per policyClose 1 in 6Close 1 in 10Close 1 in 15
$400$66.67$40.00$26.67
$600$100.00$60.00$40.00
$800$133.33$80.00$53.33

Compare that number with the price of a billable call. With Adlux, your first 10 calls of each type cost $45 (Meta), $55 (YouTube) or $70 (Connected TV).

What to track in your first week.

Your Adlux account keeps call details and recordings, and you can save your own notes and results on each call.

  • Calls received, and how many became billable.
  • Quotes given.
  • Applications submitted.
  • Policies issued, which may take longer than a week.
  • Total spend by source.
  • Calls you missed, and why.

When they are worth it.

  • You hold the licenses and carrier appointments for the states you choose.
  • You can answer during the hours you set, and turn calls off when you cannot.
  • You can explain final expense coverage clearly to someone who called to ask.
  • You track applications and issued policies by source, so you know what is working.

When they may not be.

  • You cannot reliably answer during your hours. Missed calls mean missed conversations.
  • You are not yet appointed with carriers that fit the people calling.
  • You expect every call to become a policy. Some callers are not ready or do not qualify.

How to test without overspending.

  • Start small. With Adlux the minimum is $225, which covers 5 Meta calls at first-10 prices.
  • Pick one source first, so you can see how those callers convert.
  • Choose only the hours you can answer.
  • Listen to your recordings and note what each caller needed.
  • After your first calls, compare spend with applications and issued policies, then decide whether to add money or change sources.

Questions.

Are final expense inbound calls worth it?

They can be when your earnings per policy multiplied by your close rate is higher than the price of a billable call, and you can answer during the hours you choose.

Are inbound calls better than aged leads?

They are a different product. An aged lead is a contact record you still have to reach. An inbound call is a conversation the caller started. Compare cost per policy, not cost per lead.

How many calls should I buy to test?

Start with an amount you are comfortable losing while you learn. With Adlux, the minimum is $225, which covers 5 Meta calls at first-10 prices.

Do I pay for calls that hang up quickly?

Not with Adlux. Meta and YouTube calls are charged only once they reach 90 seconds, and Connected TV calls once they reach 60 seconds.

What happens if I get a bad call?

Report it in your account. Our team checks every report. You get a credit only if the review approves it.
